Yesterday we said our goodbyes and drove through Longboat Key on our way up to St. Pete and then Tallahassee. We stopped at a small beach called Coconut Beach. Andi was looking for shells and found a nice one she wanted to keep. She picked it up, looked inside, screeched and threw it towards us. Inside was a hermit crab. When we put him in the water, he would come partially out and try crawling back to the rocks with his shell. Andi still wanted the shell sans crab, so I'd let him get going, then try to jerk the shell away from him, but he was much quicker than I as he always made it back inside. Kyler wanted to keep it, of course but we talked him out of it. His efforts to catch a gecko having failed so far, except for the dead on he managed to "catch", he still wanted some pet to come back with us. At least he hasn't tried sneaking a critter into the car yet.

On the road up to Tallahassee we seen an alligator, an armadillo, and quite a few shacks on stilts. I should mention back in Kentucky, Andi was told she sounded like the movie "Fargo". I said she should have told him that he sounded like the movie "Deliverance". My cousin said, "That will make you friends." I bet. She gets that where ever she goes.
